In 2016, while travelling on a business trip in Australia, our founders ran into a travel coordinator in Brisbane that was struggling to help his clients find accommodations for their work crews. He was using a booking process that was completely manual and was working to solve the challenge of matching crews to accommodations in the region.
Witnessing this process, and our founders having many years of experience in workforce accomodations, sparked the idea for a better way to manage complicated workforce travel - LodgeLink was born. We brought this idea before suppliers and customers who were open and excited about the opportunity to connect and add value.
In 2017, our team developed the first rendition of LodgeLink with a team of three employees and a rudimentary platform. After a successful proof of concept with that product we were able to make a bigger investment in building what is now the LodgeLink platform. Since then, we’ve leveraged technology to create a transformative ecosystem that is connecting thousands of properties and companies to efficiently manage workforce travel.
Trevor Haynes’ vision and strategy guides the dynamic growth of the Company. Under his leadership, LodgeLink merges a deep understanding of remote workforce accommodation and transportation solutions and the technology needed to help serve a growing number of customers who manage workforce travel.
Before launching LodgeLink, Trevor co-founded and launched several successful companies in the workforce accommodation, energy services, construction and modular space solutions industries operating in Canada, the United States and Australia.
He serves as Chairman and CEO of Black Diamond Group, Director of PTW Group Inc., and Chairman and Director of Claryn Equities Inc. Trevor is also a Governor of the Canada Sports Hall of Fame and Order of Sport for Canada, a member of the Business Council of Alberta, a past Chair of the Petroleum Services Association of Canada (PSAC), and Past Chair and a Founding Funder of the Fig Tree Foundation. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Toronto.
Penny Spencer is the founder and Managing Director of the Spencer Group of Companies, with over 30 years in the travel industry.
Since launching Spencer Travel in 1998, she has built a portfolio of award-winning corporate and luxury travel businesses. Named in SmartCompany's Top 30 female entrepreneurs and Travel Weekly’s Women in Travel Power List, Penny is also the founder of the not-for-profit Travel Industry Mentor Experience (TIME).
She is a passionate advocate for mentoring and believes in lifelong learning, gratitude, and integrity.
Martin Cowley is the Managing Director of the Spencer Group of Companies, bringing extensive experience in corporate travel, aviation, and strategic business leadership.
A respected figure in the Australian travel industry, Martin has held senior executive roles across global travel and payments organizations and is a mentor with the Travel Industry Mentor Experience (TIME), where he supports the development of future industry leaders.
His expertise lies in driving growth, building strong industry partnerships, and delivering innovative travel solutions for corporate and leisure clients.

Toby oversees LodgeLink’s financial health and strategy. He has a passion for business strategy and expertise in finance, accounting, public disclosure, capital markets and capital structure. Toby is a Chartered Professional Accountant with senior leadership experience in the remote accommodation industry and with high growth companies. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta. Toby also serves as EVP and CFO at Black Diamond Group.
Maurizio leads platform and technology innovation, driving the next chapter of our workforce travel transformation. With over 25 years of experience in SaaS, e-commerce, mobile, and enterprise software, he has led large-scale teams and built scalable, resilient platforms.
He brings deep expertise in microservices and cloud architecture, agile development, and helping organizations navigate growth and digital transformation. A seasoned speaker, advisor, and investor, Maurizio brings both technical depth and strategic vision to the role.
Jenna brings over 15 years of experience in accounting and finance, with a strong track record in financial management, client advisory, and team leadership.
In her role, Jenna focuses on delivering strategic financial solutions, supporting both business and client success, and mentoring teams to drive operational excellence.
Richard brings more than 14 years of experience across travel and fintech, with a strong track record in travel technology sales, commercial growth, and market expansion across the Asia Pacific region.
In this role, Richard leads regional growth across Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia, focused on introducing LodgeLink’s workforce travel platform to new markets and expanding its commercial footprint.
